One News is making a visit next week to the staff, students and parents of Blomfield Special School and Resource Centre to report on Project DISE.
Filming will take place at two locations, firstly at the home of Dezirèe Taylor whose autistic son James is a student at the school and last year participated in Project DISE’s digital diaries. James is again part of digital diaries but this year he is also participating in the project’s socialisation initiative.
Dezirèe is a keen supporter of Project DISE and will give the parental perspective of how Project DISE is helping James, and the hope DISE has given to Dezirèe and the extended family for James’ future.
The next stage of filming will be at the school and will include interviews with staff involved in the project. Children participating on the project will also be filmed.
Project DISE is pioneering the use of digital technology to help improve or correct negative behaviours in children with special needs. The initial results of the project have been very positive, which piqued One News’ interest in the story.
Airing of the story is unknown at this stage, but the DigiOps team will let you know as soon at One News advises.
