Forests of Life approached us to provide the project with a set of ProScope USB Microscopes for taking magnified digital images of forest fauna, flora and soils. We have extended our support by also providing and integrating the HP laptops used by students in the fieldwork.
We recognise that ICT has tremendous potential to create new and exciting opportunities for teaching and learning. Using digital microscopes as investigative tools for fieldwork adds a new dimension to the study of forest ecosystems, and is a great example of just how this potential can be realised.
