“The College of Education at Massey University is interested in forming collaborative research and teaching partnerships with schools. Our previous collaborative work on the North Shore Schools Net and the South Auckland Schools Net was very successful and so we were looking for opportunities to continue our research and development work on using ICT to create better conditions for teaching and learning.” – Ken Ryba, Associate Professor
Massey University College of Education is a leading provider of teacher education, offering undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in information and communication technology in education. Massey staff have researched and published extensively on ICT in education.
Massey became involved in DigiOps after being invited to a meeting with Envision Presentations Ltd, along with staff from a few selected schools. The challenge was to explore the idea of developing a project to investigate best practices for using interactive whiteboard technology to support teaching and learning.
It is great to see the focus on collaboration that the Digital Opportunities Project encourages. The partnership model is a valuable way for building capacity in education within ICT and many other areas.
