Profile – Garry Falloon, Project Leader Digital Opportunities
Garry is contracted to the Ministry of Education from the School of Education at the University of Waikato to develop and oversee the implementation of the Digital Opportunities project.
He has recently completed his EdD, which examined students’ working in digital or e-classroom environments. As an ongoing interest, Garry is continuing to research the benefits and impacts of information and communication technology (ICT) in the classroom, and how to improve student outcomes through the use of such resources.
As the former education manager at Telecom NZ Ltd, Garry was responsible for the education and online programmes provided to schools round the country. Prior to this Garry taught in Christchurch for 15 years.
Garry lives in Hamilton with his son. His interests outside ICT in education include the beach, working out at the gym, squash, and flying radio controlled aircraft.
