Congratulations to DigiOps project Studyit, which is a finalist in the 2006 TUANZ Innovation Awards.
Nominated in the TUANZ Education (Primary or Secondary) category, Studyit was entered into the awards by Studyit's project manager Ashley Blair, who is delighted to have made the finals.
"I think is an acknowledgment of the great work that the technical team and the expert mentor teachers do to support NCEA students," says Ashley.
Studyit was started in early 2004 and is a free online learning resource for students studying mathematics, the sciences and/or English up to NCEA level three. Specialist teachers are available online to guide, answer questions and mentor the students in the three subjects, while an online open forum encourages discussion and the exchange of ideas between students.
Ashley and his team will soon be going before the TUANZ judging panel to give a 10 minute presentation on Studyit, which is followed by a Q & A session.
Winners will be announced at a formal dinner in Auckland on Thursday 28 September.
