The Minister of Education, the Hon Trevor Mallard, recently released evaluation reports for the first round of the Digital Opportunities projects.
The reports evaluate the effectiveness of the four DigiOps projects, which aimed to improve students' learning outcomes through the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the classroom.
Run from 2001 to 2003, the ICT was supplied to the schools in a unique arrangement that saw businesses partnered with the Ministry and schools.
The first round of DigiOps projects laid the foundations for the second round, which began in late 2004 and involves 13 projects, 16 businesses, over a hundred schools and runs until 2007.
